Mutual Aid Hardship Fund

In the wake of UCU strike action, COVID-19 has laid bare issues of precarity, casualisation, and pay inequality that have long been endemic in UK higher education. For the most precarious university staff and students, this pandemic has meant loss of income, stable housing, and job security, as well as increased care work, restricted mobility, and lack of access to crucial resources. This fund aims to provide support for the university precariat, offering aid of up to £150 to cover rent, food, or other hardship incurred as a result of COVID-19.

To apply, simply send a message to uni.precariat@gmail.com outlining your situation and the financial aid required. Full guidance and transparency documents are available via the PayPal page.

If you’re in a stable financial position, please consider donating. We rely on your contributions to meet the needs of those worst affected, please give what you can.

URBC Mutual Aid for UK International Students

Unis Resist Border Controls  believes that no international student should be treated in such  a negligent manner by their university & by the Home Office, particularly during a global pandemic.

For this reason, they have started this mutual aid fundraiser to help international students to get urgent funds necessary to pay for basic necessities like food, medicine, & rent.

After the 31st May 2020, the nature of the fundraiser will expand to include support for  any international students in the UK stranded because of the COVID-19 lockdown who need financial support to either extend their visa and/or if students want to return home.

If you are an UK based international student who needs financial help, please email URBC: unisresistbordercontrols@gmail.com
